chat - talk to other players

SyntaxEdit

  • chat
  • chat <message>
  • chat <command>: NB! Note the colon!
  • chat <command>:<message>

<command> should be substituted by one ofEdit

  • msg - prints 'message' to a channel. (default action)
  • emote - a slightly different format (guess in what way :)
  • join - selects a channel as default output channel. If no message, silent entry.
  • topic - changes topic of a channel to 'message'. If 'message' is "delete", the channel will be closed.
  • name - changes the name which is used as an alias to the number.
  • on - you'll receive messages from the channel. 'message' is sent to the channel as a greeting.
  • off - you turn off messages from the channel. 'message' as above
  • list - list the channels
  • who - lists the listeners to a channel
  • level - participants on channel must be at least of level 'message'
  • feeling - perform the feeling <message> on the specified channel.

You can specify the channel as part of the command, ie. "chat topic 20:" will operate on channel 20, and "chat off 2:" will turn off channel 2. If no such channel is given, the commands will operate on the default output channel. "chat" alone will tell you which that is.

A channel must have a topic to be regarded active.

ExamplesEdit

chat Amiga:Got any new demos lately?
chat join Amiga:

chat off shout:I'm sick and tired of your 'claims'!
